The only benefit (apart from having the TV remote to myself!) of John being away during the week is him arriving back in Manchester at a time that coincides with me finishing work so we can have a cheeky midweek date night!
On Thursday that’s exactly what happened! So with a twist on a coffee shop date we set off for the Northern Quarter where coffee shops are the new cool and therefore open late.
We decided on Teacup which has a new evening menu of tapas style dishes… Not quite standard coffee shop fayre BUT they also had a huge selection of cake and a bigger selection of tea.
After sharing a couple of savoury dishes, while we caught up on the weeks goings on in our various offices, and milkshakes. We moved on to the important cake course.
John opted for a traditional Victoria Sponge and latte I went for Toffee Apple cake and a Immuno Tea (full of good stuff to help battle any germs!).
As expected from somewhere specialising in tea my drink was served with much style including 2 teapots, strainer and a timer! Luckily John was able to work out what I was meant to do (for someone who doesn’t drink tea I was impressed!).
All in all a successful, brief meeting, date was had and we can now look forward to a weekend of weddings and visiting (i.e. not cooking for ourselves!)
