Our Year of Dates
Picnic date
So, date day arrived, on the back of 2015’s first storm, luckily when we set off the worst had passed and although still pretty windy the sun was out… Which was good as I had requested a sea view!!Its becoming apparent that I’m to decide on all aspects not the date once picked, I hate making decisions!! I guess its character building! In keeping with tradition the picnic consisted of bread (sun dried tomato and parmesan from my new Xmas bread maker), ham (the most expensive 3 slices EVER) and goats cheese and a selection of cakes made up dessert. We drove to Fleetwood and parked overlooking the sea, although sunny the weather was pretty stormy and the people on the sea front were struggling in the wind! This combined with the swirling sand made us decide to stay in the car, apart from when the van parked next to us reversed into the car, then John got out!!Conveniently we’d past an outlet shopping centre on our way so I got my fix of fresh sea air in the walk between the shops… And my bank account got a good work out too!Its also worth mentioning that our route took us through the village of Greenhalgh. We’ve been before and that time took photos of us at the sign for Greenhalgh Lane thinking we’d use them for the wedding (we didn’t!). This time we just stopped for a Starbucks – a surprising find in a village with no other immediately visible amenities!!
