Living somewhere brilliant is no guarantee you make the most of it. The same handful of places have a way of winning most weekends. This date box is a gentle push in the other direction, made for couples who call Greater Manchester home and want an easy reason to get back out into the city together.

Inside are 14 sealed cards. Each one sets the two of you a date somewhere across Manchester and its surrounds, from Chinatown and the Northern Quarter to Salford Quays and further out. You open them one at a time, so there is a real surprise to each and none of the usual back and forth about where to go. Two more blank cards are yours to fill in, for the places you already love or the ones you keep meaning to get to.

What is inside the box

Fourteen pre-written date ideas and two blank cards, sixteen in all. The ideas take in Manchester’s museums, its markets, independent bars, theatres, music venues and the historic estates and green space around the edges of the city. There is a mix of evenings out and daytime plans, so a card can fill a free weeknight or a whole Saturday. Some ask for little more than your time. Others need a bit of spending money.

Made personal

The lid of the box is printed with your names or a short message of up to 26 characters, in the print colour and one of two fonts you choose at the top of this page. It is a small thing, but it makes the box clearly yours, or clearly theirs when you are giving it as a gift.

A local gift for a birthday, anniversary or wedding

It works just as well as a present as it does for your own date nights, and suits a birthday, an anniversary or a wedding gift. The one rule is that the couple you are buying for need to live in or near Greater Manchester, because every idea is grounded here. You can send it straight to them. Orders arrive in plain packaging with nothing on the outside to spoil the surprise, and there is space at checkout to add a gift message that we print and include.

Couples in and around Manchester who want to shake up date night. People new to the city who would like to get to know it as a pair. And long-standing Mancunians who are sure they have already done the lot. Those two blank cards are aimed squarely at that last group.

Environment

We aim to produce gifts that are 100% recyclable, and we encourage all those enjoying opening envelopes to recycle them after they’ve completed their activities.

Our boxes are 100% recyclable, and are constructed from ‘greyboard’ which is made from a mix of recycled and waste paper. The outer wrap paper is also recyclable.

Where possible, the paper we use for our card and envelopes is sourced from FSC-certified suppliers.

Shipping Information

We wish we could hand deliver every order placed with us. Unfortunately, this isn’t possible – so we have to rely on the postman.

Most items ship for free in the UK. Where free delivery applies, it is clearly shown in the product information, so you will know before you order.

Free UK delivery is sent via Royal Mail Tracked 48 to mainland UK addresses. These are usually delivered within 2-3 working days, but this is not guaranteed.

We offer an upgrade to Tracked 24 (next working day) or express, which is sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery.

You can choose to have your order delivered to your own address, sent directly to the recipient, or delivered to a Royal Mail parcel locker or collection point convenient for you. Please note the lockers will hold the order for 3 days, and returned orders will be subject to an additional charge to resend.

We also offer free international shipping on orders over £60 to most countries. Our international orders are sent via Royal Mail International, and tracked depending on the destination.

Tracking is provided on all orders once dispatched and will be shown in your dispatch email.

We aim to send your order within 1 working day of receiving your payment. Orders received before 12pm UK time will be shipped the same day (excluding weekends and bank holidays).
