Fall in love with where you live

Living in a city with as much going on as Birmingham does not mean you make the most of it. The same handful of places have a way of winning most weekends, and the new openings and the long-loved classics you have never got round to stay on the list. This box is a push to get back out into the city and find a few of them.

Inside are 14 sealed cards. Each one sets the two of you a date somewhere across Birmingham and its surrounds, from the Jewellery Quarter and Digbeth to the Balti Triangle, Moseley and the hills on the edge of the city. Open them one at a time, whenever you have an evening or a Saturday free, and the usual back and forth about where to go is already settled. Two more blank cards are yours to fill in, for the places you already love or the ones you keep meaning to try.

What kind of dates are inside?

The ideas take in Birmingham’s museums and markets, its independent bars, theatres and music venues, and the historic estates and green space on the edge of the city. There is a mix of evenings out and daytime plans, so a card can fill a free weeknight or a whole Saturday. Some ask for little more than your time. Others need a bit of spending money.

No schedule to keep up with

Nothing is dated and there is no order to work through. The 16 cards sit in the box until you want one, which means a quiet month costs you nothing and a good run of weekends gets through several. Couples tend to open one when they want a date sorted without the planning, rather than treating it as something else to keep on top of.

Made personal

The lid of the box is printed with your names or a short message, in the print colour and one of two fonts you choose at the top of this page. It is a small thing, but it makes the box clearly yours, or clearly theirs when you are giving it away.

A local gift for Christmas, a birthday or an anniversary

It works just as well as a present as it does for your own date nights, and suits Christmas, a birthday, an anniversary or a wedding gift. The one rule is that the couple you are buying for need to live in or near Birmingham, because every idea is grounded here. You can send it straight to them. Orders arrive in plain packaging with nothing on the outside to spoil the surprise, and there is space at checkout to add a gift message that we print and include.

Who it is for

Couples in and around Birmingham who want to shake up date night. People who have just moved here and would like to get to know the place as a pair. And lifelong Brummies who are sure there is nothing left to discover. Those two blank cards are aimed squarely at that last group.

Environment

We aim to produce gifts that are 100% recyclable, and we encourage all those enjoying opening envelopes to recycle them after they’ve completed their activities.

Our boxes are 100% recyclable, and are constructed from ‘greyboard’ which is made from a mix of recycled and waste paper. The outer wrap paper is also recyclable.

Where possible, the paper we use for our card and envelopes is sourced from FSC-certified suppliers.

Shipping Information

We wish we could hand deliver every order placed with us. Unfortunately, this isn’t possible – so we have to rely on the postman.

Most items ship for free in the UK. Where free delivery applies, it is clearly shown in the product information, so you will know before you order.

Free UK delivery is sent via Royal Mail Tracked 48 to mainland UK addresses. These are usually delivered within 2-3 working days, but this is not guaranteed.

We offer an upgrade to Tracked 24 (next working day) or express, which is sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery.

You can choose to have your order delivered to your own address, sent directly to the recipient, or delivered to a Royal Mail parcel locker or collection point convenient for you. Please note the lockers will hold the order for 3 days, and returned orders will be subject to an additional charge to resend.

We also offer free international shipping on orders over £60 to most countries. Our international orders are sent via Royal Mail International, and tracked depending on the destination.

Tracking is provided on all orders once dispatched and will be shown in your dispatch email.

We aim to send your order within 1 working day of receiving your payment. Orders received before 12pm UK time will be shipped the same day (excluding weekends and bank holidays).
